Rivendell Tibetan Spaniels
Welcome to Rivendell Tibetan Spaniels. Our homepage features our foundation bitch CH. Starlite Born Ti-Be Wild ("Belle") at 11 months old going Best of Breed from the classes over Specials at the Chambersburg KC show in December of 2004. Belle completed her championship shortly thereafter in April of 2005.
History of Rivendell Tibetan Spaniels
Rivendell was established in March of 2004 with the purchase of our foundation bitch. We had previously been involved in breeding and showing Bearded Collies since 1978 under the prefix "Teacher's". When the "two-legged" kids expressed an interest in showing it became apparent that a smaller breed was going to be necessary and after some consideration our first Tibbie "Rudy" was purchased in 2002. After a few months I decided that I would like to become more involved with this wonderful breed so we started looking for a bitch who could be used as our foundation and the rest as they say is history. At Rivendell we breed for type and temperament. We have puppies available very infrequently but when we do our pups are home raised in a family environment and come to you at 12 weeks socialized to kids, cats and "big" dogs, and familiar with their crates (although they would rather be in your lap or asleep on the couch). We also place a great deal of importance on the health of the puppies we bring into this world and routine health screenings are performed including eyes, thyroid, and bile acid screens as well as OFA certification on hips and patellas. We love to get out with our dogs and have competed not only in the breed ring but also in Agility. Our two Junior Teams (Sarah and Belle as well as our newest team Hannah and Chance who will be in the ring for the first time in July 2008) are active in both the Juniors and Conformation rings. Sarah is also an active junior member or our local all-breed Kennel Club.
